Wild Goose restaurant was built by Tahoe Mountain Resorts, a company whose environmental mission is “to protect what we’re here to enjoy.”

The Sustainability Initiatives Program was developed as a voluntary program to reduce TMR’s “ecological footprint” and is rooted in the principles of “ecological effectiveness.” The program strives to use state-of-the-art technologies that address aesthetic concerns, as well as economic, environmental and societal impacts. A program of green practices, such as this, is rarely applied on such a comprehensive basis in real estate development and operations.

TAHOE MOUNTAIN RESORTS SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES PROGRAM

MISSION : To continually integrate sustainability into the design, construction, and operation of the Tahoe Mountain Resorts network in a way that redefines success in terms of financial, environmental, and community metrics.

VISION : It is the natural resources that draw people to the Tahoe region. To this end, everything we design, from the services we provide to the facilities we construct, should reflect the best possible environmental decisions we can make today.

ABOUT SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Globally, Sustainability is most often defined as “meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.” Many benefits are achieved through this process such as: improved indoor environmental quality, reduced energy usage, increased user satisfaction, and reduced impact on the development’s external environment. To realize the vision of the Sustainability Initiatives Program TMR actively collaborates & is involved with the voluntary programs below :

• Audubon International’s Sustainable Development Program
• US Green Building Council’s LEED rating system
• US EPA’s ENERGY STAR home rating program
• US EPA’s Waste Wise management program
